Donald Trump says local police will play key role in his mass deportation plan
The serially indicted, disgraced ex-president has been using downright dystopian rhetoric on the campaign trail, pledging to grant local police forces sweeping "immunity" to roll out "the largest domestic deportation operation in American history” if he somehow weasels his way back into the White House. Bestowing local police forces with vast new powers for which they have no training and are fundamentally ill-equipped to handle? What could possibly go horribly wrong?

VIDEO OF THE DAY: Trump gets unwelcome surprise at border visit
An Eagle Pass, Texas, resident surprised the disgraced ex-president during his political stunt of an appearance on Friday — where he was using the border and immigration as a political cudgel to wield against Democrats — and he did not have nice things to say to the serial fraudster. Trump's very appearance at the border should serve as a pointed reminder to anyone paying attention that the only reason we don't have a border bill in place right now is because Trump himself wanted to preserve the issue for his own partisan benefit.

Lauren Boebert’s “escape” plan backfires in brutal fashion
Ike McCorkle for Congress: Insurrectionist traitor Lauren Boebert thought she was off the hook when she switched districts to get out of a tough re-election race — but her new Democratic challenger, Ike McCorkle, is going to make sure she’ll be switching to a new job come January. Ike knows firsthand what it means to be a patriot, and Lauren Boebert is no patriot — and after 18 years of service in the Marine Corps, Ike couldn’t stand watching MAGA extremists like Lauren Boebert threaten our democracy any longer. Watch this launch video to get to know Ike McCorkle and chip in to finally kick Lauren Boebert out of Congress!
US military to bypass Israel, airdrop humanitarian aid into Gaza
A fed-up President Biden has ordered the US military to airdrop food, medicine, and other desperately needed supplies into Gaza in the wake of the recent IDF massacre of Palestinians trying to reach food aid. 115 people were killed and over 750 were wounded. “The truth is, aid flowing into Gaza is nowhere nearly enough now. It’s nowhere nearly enough. Innocent lives are on the line and children’s lives are on the line. We should be getting hundreds of trucks in, not just several," said President Biden. Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch have both accused Israel of blocking aid into Gaza and of ignoring the International Court of Justice's order to take “immediate and effective measures” for aid provision. “The Israeli government is starving” Gaza’s 2.4 million Palestinians, “putting them in even more peril than before the World Court’s binding order,” said HRW's Israel and Palestine director Omar Shakir.

GOP senators say they support IVF — just not a federal law to secure it
In the weeks since the Alabama Supreme Court issued a mindnumbingly stupid ruling declaring that fertilized embryos inside or outside of the uterus are children — leading IVF providers to halt operations across the state — many Republicans have expressed their support for the procedure, and in the process boxed themselves in with truly stunning, hypocritical positions at fundamental odds with themselves. Democrats have rightly seized upon the issue, pointing out when GOP candidates have previously expressed support for fetal personhood. If an embryo is a child, the argument goes, then IVF is inherently under threat, because it often requires discarding fertilized eggs that are not viable. Setting aside the purely political considerations, Republicans announcing support for IVF only raises further questions about what that endorsement means. For example, if every frozen embryo is a child, should a mother be required to carry it, even if physicians know it is nonviable and will result in a miscarriage? How should frozen embryos be handled? Panicked Republicans sensing real ballot-box danger are scrambling to bring back a greatest hit from yesteryear: States' rights! Ah, yes. Let the states handle it. Reproductive rights are simply too important to be dealt with at the federal level, folks. We must therefore let the states determine what is best. Because if there's one thing that trumps science, healthcare, and decades of cumulative medical expertise, it's arbitrary geographical boundaries.

Steve Bannon: “Mass deportations are going to start, if you don't like that, then don't vote for President Trump”
Folks, there is no quiet part. Everything is out loud in MAGAland and it is — without hyperbole — terrifying. Please take Steve Bannon at his word here. For a truly terrible, xenophobic, lying liar, he's telling all the truth right now.
Fox News "migrant crime" ranter is a bit of a criminal himself
Apparently we're at the point in the election cycle where the gibbering bozos on Fox News have decided to jettison their "OH GOD THE ECONOMY IS SO BAD YOUR KIDS ARE STARVING" narrative and instead switch to "IMMIGRANTS ARE COMING TO KILL YOUR WHOLE FAMILY." Fox viewers were recently treated to a histrionic, anti-immigrant rant spewed by Georgia resident James Lee, who accused immigrants of all being criminals perpetrating a "migrant crime spree." But it turns out the only criminal involved in this story was James Lee himself, who Media Matters for America quickly discovered is actually named James DePaola and was arrested in 2016 for violently threatening his wife for making a grilled cheese sandwich too...cheesy. No, we are not joking. Fox News tried to save face, claiming that DePaola had lied to the network and they hadn't done any of their homework (very believable), but once again, we see that when it comes to Republicans, nearly every accusation is actually an admission of guilt.
