I just wanted to pass along a note of thanks.

This grassroots team is so strong, and I am proud that close to 4,000 supporters have chipped in already so far this cycle. This team has the energy we need to stand up to any attacks from the extreme-right and continue on our progress for families across IL-13.

March is Women’s History Month, and I’m part of the fewer than 4% of legislators historically that are women. Women running for office, especially for the first time, face even more obstacles and challenges than their male counterparts (I can personally attest to that!).

But thanks to this grassroots team, in 2022 we ran together and won, and since then, as the first Democratic woman to represent this District, I’ve worked hard to serve as the advocate that Central and Southern Illinois deserves.

Every visit, every conversation, and every response to our team’s surveys fuel my work in Washington — I want to make sure the everyday issues that are impacting working families stay at the top of my priorities.

Thanks for your support — by building a solid foundation of grassroots support, we can continue standing up for the underserved and underrepresented communities across Southern and Central Illinois.— Nikki Budzinski (IL-13)
