Calling on courts to safeguard children at the U.S.-Mexico border: Migrant children are facing deplorable conditions at open air detention sites at the U.S.-Mexico border. Inadequate food and shelter, withholding of medicine, and untreated injuries are among the many examples that led advocates to file a motion in court this week. AFSC has provided photo evidence and documentation to move the complaint forward. We join in calling for immediate action to protect children’s rights. (CNN)

Commemorating the 69th anniversary of “Speak Truth to Power”: On March 2, 1955, as the Cold War escalated, AFSC’s Board of Directors approved the publication of "Speak Truth to Power." The influential document called for nonviolent alternatives to end the crisis. “Whether condemned or in a sense valued, pacifism has been considered irrelevant to the concrete problems of international relations.
