Hi John.

I know Kansans are frustrated with partisanship and gridlock in Washington. The last thing anyone needs right now is more extremism in either party.

That’s why more than seven out of every ten bills that I’m supporting are bipartisan. I know good ideas can come from Republicans and Democrats.

It’s not always easy, but Kansans should expect results and civility. So today, I wanted to share with you some of the critical progress my team and I have made recently by working with both parties.

I’m here to serve every person and corner of our community – and that starts with listening. Click here to take my quick survey to share your priorities at davids.house.gov/bipartisan.

Bipartisan Investments in Kansas Manufacturing

I was honored to recently join Kansas Senator Moran to help announce a major new investment to expand Honeywell’s manufacturing facility in Olathe.

This project will create more than 350 well-paying jobs in our area! It will also contribute $18.3 million to our local economy within its first six years.

Honeywell’s decision to expand its operations in Kansas reflects our state’s rich history of manufacturing, especially in the aviation sector.

Senator Moran and I served as negotiators on a major, bipartisan manufacturing law. The new law has led to a surge of factory construction across the United States. This is about creating more jobs and building more products here in America – not China.

I was also glad to work with Republicans and Democrats to help bring Panasonic’s new manufacturing plant to De Soto. This means 4,000 jobs for our community, the largest-ever economic project in Kansas.

Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Working for Kansas

I’m also thrilled to announce that the U.S. Department of Transportation is now helping to rebuild two local airports in Olathe and Paola. This means modernizing our local airport infrastructure, flying more safely, and moving goods more quickly.

Please click here to learn more about these projects and how they’re making a difference.

When we make targeted investments in local infrastructure, our communities become safer, more efficient, and better equipped to handle future economic development and job growth.

These investments in our local infrastructure were made possible by the new bipartisan infrastructure law that I was glad to help pass. As a member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, I worked with Republicans and Democrats to help pass this law and held meetings at the White House to make sure Kansas was always part of the conversation.

Now we’re seeing the results of this bipartisan work. Our local airports are being upgraded, lead pipes are being replaced in Olathe, and U.S. 69 is being modernized.

Bipartisan Support for Veterans

My mom served in the U.S. Army for twenty years. I learned so much about service, sacrifice, and dedication to country through her. After everything our veterans have done for us, we must have their backs.

That’s why my office recently held its sixth annual “Valentines for Veterans” program. After calling for community submissions, my team and I were happy to deliver more than 100 cards to local veterans at the Lenexa VA.

Please click here to learn more about it.

As the daughter of a veteran, I understand firsthand the sacrifice our veterans make while serving our country. The Valentine’s for Veterans program is one small yet personal way we can show our appreciation for those who have worked to keep us safe.

Supporting our veterans is something I’ve been glad to work on consistently in a bipartisan way. For example, I was glad to work with both parties to pass a law that’s funding a new clinic at the Kansas City VA. This means helping more veterans who were exposed to toxic burn pits.

And late last year I was honored to work with my Republican colleague in Missouri, Mark Alford, to pass the bipartisan SERV Act in the House. Our bipartisan bill is about connecting veteran-owned small businesses with resources so they can grow and hire.

Are you a local veteran who needs assistance with the VA or another issue? Please visit davids.house.gov/helpforvets to find assistance.

My job is to serve every person and corner of our community – regardless of party. Whether we agree on every issue or not is beside the point. Everyone deserves a government that works for them – not just for special interests, big corporations, or the extremes of either party.

If you haven’t already, please visit davids.house.gov/bipartisan to take my survey to share your priorities with me. You can also find resources for your family.

It’s an honor to serve you in the U.S. House of Representatives. If you have any questions or want to share your views, please feel free to contact me.

My warmest regards,
