We know this is a difficult time. Take care of yourself and your loved ones, and only consider contributing to my campaign if you can afford to do so. Please know that my team would not reach out unless it were absolutely vital to the campaign. -TJ Cox

Friend --

There's no question we are facing difficult times. We hope that you and your loved ones are staying safe and doing your part to end this crisis, because we all have a role to play.

As you probably know, we have shifted to a virtual campaign here at Cox HQ. That means we're keeping staff and volunteers at home to help flatten the curve. We've also cancelled all in-person fundraising events, which means our average donation size has dropped significantly over the last couple of weeks.

That's especially concerning right now because our opponent David Valadao is quietly surging in our race:

- President Trump has all but endorsed Valadao's campaign.
- While our numbers dip, we expect Valadao is still raising corporate PAC cash hand over fist.
- As a result, our race outlook was recently downgraded from "LEANS DEMOCRAT" to "TOSSUP" by the Cook Political Report

Look, we know a lot has changed. But what has not changed is the fact that TJ's race will still be one of the most competitive in the country. Republicans are coming at us with everything they've got, so we have to ask:

Our first FEC filing deadline of the new year hits on Tuesday, and we need to kick things back into gear. If you're able to make a contribution, we'd appreciate any support you can give today. Based on our records, $3 from you would go a long way.
