BREAKING: Walgreens just announced that they will fill prescriptions for
the abortion pill mifepristone in several states -- including
California.(1)

This is such a big win for Courage California members and for everyone who
cares about bodily autonomy!

CVS has also joined in on certifying to dispense mifepristone. But there’s
just one thing: Walgreens and CVS are only starting with a handful of
pharmacies, in a few states.(2)

And we know what will happen next: Anti-abortion groups will be attacking
these pharmacies full-force. The Pharma giants could fold and end their
programs with just these few states -- or stop dispensing the abortion
pill altogether.

We can’t let this progress slip through our fingers! We need to mobilize
to make sure that Walgreens and CVS expand the dispensing of mifepristone
across the nation.

fight to make the abortion pill available at pharmacies everywhere?

Last year, President Biden made it possible for pharmacies to certify to
dispense mifepristone.(3) It was a total no-brainer -- mifepristone is
incredibly safe, has been used by millions of people effectively, and
accounts for half of all abortions.(4)

And for people who live hundreds of miles from a clinic -- especially
communities of color -- not having to be in a doctor’s office to receive
the medication is a game-changer.(5)

But Walgreens and CVS held off on their certification because
anti-abortion legislators put massive pressure on the Pharma giants.

That’s when Courage California mobilized and helped to fund
super-effective billboards that pressured Walgreens into changing its
mind. And our pressure is working -- Walgreens and CVS will have the pill
available in pilot pharmacies in six states.(6)

This is only the beginning, however. Anti-abortion extremists will
absolutely be out in force to shut down these pharmacies, and there are
still millions of people left out of Walgreens' and CVS’s programs. We
can’t let these extremists convince these pharmacies to stop the rollout.

We need to ramp our campaign up immediately to make sure that Walgreens
and CVS don’t once again cave to those wanting to take our rights from us.
