Exciting news, John: We just won a HUGE victory for voting rights in Arizona!

Voto Latino and our allies filed suit to challenge Arizona's HB 2492 — a voter suppression bill targeting immigrant communities.
Today, a judge struck down provisions of the bill that would have:

Required individuals who register to vote using the state form to fill out state or country of birth, which would have resulted in unfairly investigating only naturalized citizens.

Imposed a mandatory proof of citizenship requirement.

Automatically prevent anyone who failed to provide proof of citizenship from voting in any election.

Today's victory is a major win for Arizonans, who should not be forced to jump through unnecessary hoops to exercise their right to vote. But there are still many more voter suppression efforts underway across the country.

John, the best way to counteract efforts to suppress our communities' votes is by registering and mobilizing more young Latinos than ever before.
