In continuing efforts to mitigate parking impacts caused by COVID-19, the City of Long Beach is adding more free alternative off-street parking options for residents. Residents can apply online for free parking and passes will be issued on a first come first served basis.

Weare working to provide more parking relief and options for residents and these new lots should help more people across the city. If you live in a parking impacted area, please take advantage of this program so the City can clean local streets for health and safety reasons.

The additional parking lots that will now be available include:

- Brewitt Library, 4036 E Anaheim St.
- Burnett Library, 560 E Hill St.
- Dana Library, 3680 Atlantic Ave.
- Mark Twain Library, 1401 E Anaheim St.
- Michelle Obama Library, 5870 Atlantic Ave.

Residents can still apply for parking permits at these previously announced lots:

Beach Lots

- Granada, 5100 E. Ocean Blvd.
- Junipero, 2100 E. Ocean Blvd.
- Belmont, 3998 E. Allin St.

Garages

- City Place Garage A, 50 W. 6th St.
- City Place Garage B, 50 E. 5th St.
- City Place Garage C, 50 E. 3rd St.
- Pike Garage, 65 Cedar Ave.
- Aquarium Garage, 99 Aquarium Way
- Terrace Theater Garage, 300 E. Ocean Blvd.

Interested residents can email [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]>to receive an application. Once completed and returned, a permit providing access to the location of their choice (if not already full) will be mailed to their home. Passes will be available on a first-come first-served basis. 

Additionally, the suspension of street sweeping parking citations has been extended through May 1, 2020. Street sweeping will continue in areas where the sweeper can effectively provide service, however no citations will be issued to violating vehicles. While citations will not be issued, the City encourages the community to move their vehicles during posted sweeping times. Street sweeping is a critical health service for the City, collecting thousands of tons of debris each year, therefore it is essential that vehicle owners make every effort to comply with parking restrictions. All other parking enforcement, including enforcement for metered parking, time zones, and red, white and blue curbs, will continue as usual.
