On Monday, Governor Walz and United States Representative Angie Craig held a roundtable in St. Paul to discuss Minnesota?s work on the state and federal level to address the opioid crisis.?

*"The opioid epidemic hits close to home for too many Minnesotans. That?s why we?re investing over $200 million towards a more comprehensive public health approach to substance use disorder - from prevention and harm reduction to treatment and recovery,"?*said Governor Walz.?

On Tuesday, Governor Walz, Lieutenant Governor Flanagan, and Explore Minnesota launched Star of the North, a new multi-platform campaign aimed at attracting visitors from around the world and recruiting top talent to Minnesota.

*"As a top state for quality of life, health care, and business, we?re investing in a tourism and talent attraction campaign to promote Minnesota on a global stage," *said Governor Walz. *"We?re also aiming to attract skilled workers to support our nation-leading health care, manufacturing, and technology sectors. Whether you?re visiting as a tourist, searching for a job, or looking to relocate, there are opportunities for everyone in Minnesota."*

Lieutenant Governor Flanagan speaks to press in the State Capitol

On Thursday, Lieutenant Governor Flanagan highlighted the Housing Stability Act, legislation that builds on historic investments in housing and ensures Minnesotans are not denied housing because they receive rental assistance.?

*"This bill makes clear that landlords who choose not to accept renters based on their use of housing vouchers are breaking the law,"* said Lieutenant Governor Flanagan. *"Housing vouchers provided me with a safe place to live as a child, and we know that housing stability is the foundation of educational growth, stable employment, health, and safety. That?s why every Minnesotan deserves access to stable housing without discrimination."*

The Housing Stability Act clarifies the state?s civil rights law to ensure?that landlords cannot refuse to rent to or otherwise discriminate against someone because they receive and use rental assistance to pay their rent.?
