Rep. Bergman voted to shut down the government, including the Veterans Affairs.
After taking a two-week hiatus, Bergman joined other MAGA Republicans and voted to shut down the government again before a funding deadline expired. Ultimately, Congress kicked the can down the road for one more week.
Trump insists, "Unless you get everything, shut it down!" Over 75% of Americans and I strongly disagree. This is dysfunctional, unproductive, and not how Americans want to be governed.
If my opponent doesn't believe in a functional government, he doesn't deserve to serve in it.

My disappointment in the failure of ceasefire negotiations
I am deeply saddened and frustrated by the halt in ceasefire negotiations that occurred after Israeli troops opened fire on Palestinians rushing to collect food aid. The situation in Gaza cannot be allowed to escalate.
The world must find a solution that puts an end to the brutal violence. The release of hostages is necessary, as is the defeat of Hamas. But, we must address the two-state solution and call for a ceasefire now.
Enough is enough.
