Friend,
I’m writing to you today from my kitchen table, where I’ve been going over Alyse’s fundraising numbers while watching far too many episodes of PAW Patrol with my daughter. I’m reaching out because the campaign has a big FEC deadline coming up, and I want to tell you personally why it’s so important to me that we hit our fundraising goal.

Every three months, campaigns running for federal (national) office are required to file reports with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) that detail how much money they raised, where the money came from, and what they spent money on. The report is a way for campaigns to be transparent and accountable. Here’s what it looks like (this is one page out of 600!):

A couple of weeks after the deadline, the FEC puts the report on their website for everyone to see. So people like you or me can go through and see where our elected leaders get their support. Don Young and his Washington pals will be looking closely to determine how strong our grassroots campaign is and whether they need to take us seriously. It also tells the rest of Alaska and the nation whether ours is a campaign worth investing in.
Pitch in today to send a message: our movement is strong, serious and ready to win in November. Any amount, even $1, shows us you’re with us in this fight for change.

Thanks for being on our team,
Kim (Alyse’s finance director)
