Oklahoma,

Washington cannot continue to kick the can down the road on government funding. Currently, Congress is up against two more funding deadlines. I support a full-year continuing resolution to prevent our government from shutting down, but we must get back to funding the government through regular order for Fiscal Year 2025. For more on this topic, watch my Weekly Wrap Up video here. If this email was forwarded to you, you can subscribe to my weekly enewsletter here.

The federal government needs to incentivize workforce participation, not encourage people to become dependents of the state. As a business owner, I spoke on the importance of strengthening the workforce during a Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) hearing this week. Check it out here

The radical Lefts’ Green New Deal agenda holds no regard for the majority of Americans who are struggling to make ends meet. I joined my colleagues in sending a letter to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Michael Regan this week, defending consumer choice in the automotive market against California’s illegal attempt to ban new gas-powered cars. Granting California’s waiver request would transform the auto market, forcing Americans to conform to Biden’s costly electric vehicle (EV) push and make America more reliant on China for critical mineral supply. This week was packed full of visits from Oklahomans who made the trip to advocate for their priorities in DC. I had a great time meeting so many of you and am grateful for your time. Check out a few of the meetings below.

Oklahoma is the proud home to many of our nation’s veterans. It was an honor to meet with members of the Oklahoma American Legion in Washington this week and hear about current veteran and military issues facing them back home. I’m grateful for their time and even more grateful for their service to our great nation.

It was great to see familiar faces from the Grand River Dam Authority (GRDA) in my office this week. GRDA is Oklahoma’s largest public power utility, serving the state since 1935. We discussed the Pensacola Dam located at the southern end of Grand Lake and legislative solutions to reduce flooding throughout the region. Thank you to Dan Sullivan, CEO of GRDA, Charles Sublett, Chairman of the GRDA Board, and their team for taking the time to meet.

It was great to speak with the National Indian Education Association in Washington on Tuesday and answer questions about our federal obligation to the Tribes and the future of education in Indian Country. Thank you for having me.

In 2020, Congress signed the FAFSA Simplification Act to make applying for federal student aid more accessible. Despite have three years to prepare, Joe Biden's Department of Education still botched the rollout--costing students and universities valuable time and limiting their resources to make critical financial aid decisions. Check out my 'Mullin It Over' column for more.

I want to continue to thank our outstanding first responders and state emergency operations teams for their quick action following the wildfires in Western Oklahoma. My office remains in touch with local leaders and emergency managers and are standing by to assist Ellis County, Beaver County, Roger Mills County, and Texas County, and are tracking additional reports in the region.

Thank you Shattuck Fire Department, Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management, Ellis County Sheriff's Office, Beaver County Emergency Management, and Roger Mills County Emergency Management for your swift response.

Thanks for reading my weekly e-newsletter! It’s an honor to represent the great state of Oklahoma in the U.S. Senate. You can stay in touch by following me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. As always, don’t hesitate to contact my office if we can help in any way.

God Bless!
