Hi John, I would like to share something very personal.

It’s only with the help of IVF treatments that my wife Mary El and I were able to have our much-wanted, much-loved, youngest son.

We are incredibly grateful to the staff at the Assisted Reproductive Technology Institute at Walter Reed for helping bring Philip into our lives. The journey with infertility can be a long and painful one. For many families, IVF is one of the last options for having a baby.

But now, this viral reproductive healthcare is at risk. A court case in Alabama resulted in IVF treatments becoming virtually impossible in that state. And Republicans in the Senate are blocking legislation that would protect IVF services across the nation.

It is infuriating, team, that Republicans continue to chip away at our freedoms, including the freedom to have a child.

This is yet another example of why there’s no room for clueless politicians in the doctor’s examination room.

As a physician myself, I strongly believe that reproductive healthcare should be between a patient and a doctor. In Congress, I will support legislation to codify IVF federal protections and protect *ALL* reproductive freedoms.

Reproductive healthcare is bound to be a tough battle. But I’m a 25-year U.S. Army veteran, I know tough battles.

And you better believe, if I'm elected to the U.S. Congress, I will fight every single day to protect reproductive healthcare and rights.

If you’re in this fight with me, please pitch in a donation of $20.24 to mobilize and organize every corner of my critical swing district (the only tossup district in Maryland).
