John,
When I decided to run for Senate, I never thought I’d be sending an email like this one.
We’re living in truly unprecedented times. The coronavirus pandemic has turned our world upside down and impacted families across North Carolina and across the country. I hope you and your family are safe, healthy and taking care of each other during this difficult time.
Just like this public health emergency changed the way our workplaces and schools operate, it has changed our campaign too.
We’ve canceled our in-person events and moved them online, and are re-organizing ourselves to run the kind of campaign no one had planned for. But even though the way we’re campaigning has changed, our reasons for running remain the same.
It’s more important than ever that people have access to the affordable health care they need, that our government puts people ahead of corporate interests, and that we leave no one behind.
If you believe in that future, and it makes sense for you financially right now, I’m asking you to consider making a contribution to our campaign ahead of Tuesday’s FEC deadline.
We’re up against millions of dollars in spending from our opponents, and we appreciate any contribution you can make.

Thank you for being a part of this team and for believing in what we can accomplish together. It means so much to me to know you continue to stay engaged and raise your voice on the issues that matter to all of us.
All my best,
— Cal
