John,
As we celebrate Women's History Month this March, I am thrilled to reflect on the incredible women making significant strides and contributions to our state and party. As the first female chair of the Delaware Democratic Party, I’m keenly aware of the shoulders I stand on and the torch I carry.
Delaware women have a long-standing tradition of getting things done, and it is a source of immense pride to witness the impact of their leadership. In our state, women not only make up a majority of the statewide elected officials but also hold a majority in both the House and Senate Democratic Caucuses. Their dedication and hard work continue to shape policies that benefit everyone.
At a time when reproductive freedoms are under attack, Delaware stands as a beacon of women's rights, having codified abortion rights in 2017. Our commitment to safeguarding these essential rights is a testament to the strength and resilience of Delaware women.
This Women's History Month, let's celebrate the achievements of Delaware's remarkable women who have shattered glass ceilings and paved the way for future generations. Together, we honor their legacy and commitment to progress.
Sincerely,
Betsy
Chair, Delaware Democratic Party
