For-profit health corporations have been raiding the Medicare Trust Fund, using the Medicare Advantage program to offer bait-and-switch health care coverage to seniors. Many of these plans overcharge Medicare, then deny coverage for necessary care in order to ensure massive profits.

Now, these greedy plans are asking to increase their rates by 3.7%!

Here’s the truth: These for-profit plans have overcharged Medicare by tens of billions of dollars every year. They should be paying us back, not the other way around.

Just as the government recoups overpayments to individuals it should be recouping Medicare Advantage overpayments, not rewarding them with greater revenues. In addition to driving up costs for everyone with Medicare, it is eroding the Medicare Trust Fund.
