Who Are My People? Historical Connections in Black-Palestinian Solidarity and the March on Washington for Gaza

The struggles of people worldwide against the oppression they face are all fundamentally connected. Our staff member Trina Jackson saw it first hand in Gaza. At the Erez Crossing:

“I’ll never forget what it felt like to be escorted ahead of them [Palestinians] with my U.S. passport and privileged status as a foreigner. As an African-American, I thought about what our people experienced in the Jim Crow South: second-class treatment in bus terminals and train stations.”

For this Black History Month, we’re spotlighting the solidarity built between Black and Afro-descendant peoples and the Palestinian people.
