John,

This week we crossed 1,000 petition signatures gathered for our campaign in McAllen, a major city on the Texas-Mexico border. While GOP leaders use border communities as props in their hateful messaging campaigns, Ground Game Texas is working with the community for real, progressive change.

Our campaign in McAllen is focused on campaign finance reform in local elections. We are working to reduce the maximum contribution for local candidates from $10,000 to $500. This reform will protect against corruption and ensure the voice of the people will be heard.

Ground Game Texas is organizing progressive voters in one of the most important regions in Texas. Chip in $25 or more today to support our McAllen campaign! [[link removed]]

This McAllen campaign is our fourth petition-gathering effort in the Rio Grande Valley, following our recent initiatives to require a $15 minimum wage for city workers. Now we want to get big money out of local politics — and make sure regular people have a voice in their local government.

When we get out the vote for our McAllen ballot measure, it will help progressive candidates up and down the ballot. Invest in South Texas organizing with a generous contribution today! [[link removed]\]

With optimism,
