Friends — I want to thank you for your support over the first two months of the year.

I know for many of you that support goes back decades, all the way to my first-ever race for Richmond City Council in the 90s. I couldn’t be more grateful to have such a strong and dedicated team by my side as we get closer to one of the most consequential elections of my lifetime.

My campaign team and I ask a lot of you, and I’d like to tell you what your support makes possible. Thanks to folks like you stepping up and helping reach our February goal, here’s where we are today:

We can proceed with important campaign expenditures like hiring more staff on the ground to organize every corner of Virginia.
We can plan ahead for necessary voter communication like TV ads and educational mailers.
And perhaps most critically, we can prepare for the Republican attacks we know are coming — from the nine candidates vying to run against me and from Donald Trump himself, who’s determined to flip Virginia this year. (He's even coming to campaign here tomorrow!)

We’re now just eight months from the election — and a few weeks away from the first FEC filing deadline of 2024. So I’ll be honest: I’m going to keep asking a lot of you in the coming weeks and months.

If you didn’t get a chance to chip in before our February deadline, I’ll ask right now: Can you help get ahead on our March goal by donating any amount today?

Grassroots support is a non-negotiable part of winning an election these days, and I think that’s a good thing — having leaders in public office whose campaign victories were funded by hundreds of thousands of people chipping in a few bucks at a time is both meaningful and powerful.

But it means that we can’t let up for a single day — because unlike some VA Republicans, I’m not being handed million-dollar checks by mega-donor pals to fund my race.

With Democrats leading the Senate and Joe Biden in the White House, we’ve accomplished a whole lot, but there’s so much left to do — and if we want any chance of keeping up our progress, we need to defeat the MAGA extremists who are trying to roll it all back.
