Dear Friend,
Since we launched this campaign to fight back a misleading recall effort, we’ve been so encouraged by the response from Ward 6 neighbors. In just a week, we’ve already raised nearly $50,000, with the vast majority coming from Ward 6 neighbors.
Additionally, P lanned Parenthood Advocates of DC, MD, and NoVa , the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 36 , Sierra Club DC , SEIU 32BJ , the Ward 6 Democratic Party , and the DC Democratic Latino Caucus have all issued strong statements of support in favor of Charles Allen and against any recall effort.
We’re closing in on 400 neighbors who’ve donated to Charles in the first week. If you haven’t pitched in yet, now’s the time before our first filing deadline this Sunday. Please make a donation today and ask a friend or family member to join you [[link removed]] . It is very important to me that this campaign is funded by neighbors, not special interests. Even if you can give just a little, that means a lot.

The combination of such strong fundraising right off the bat and the endorsements from some of the District’s most prominent organizations shows just how much people appreciate and support the hard work Charles has done as our councilmember. We understand there are complicated challenges in front of us. But we appreciate his approach and know he delivers for Ward 6 and the District. [link removed] [[link removed]]
Thanks,

Campaign Chair, Neighbors United for Ward 6
P.S. - Unlike a regular campaign that can use the District's public financing program to encourage small dollar donors over big money interests (a program Charles created, by the way), campaigns to defend against recall efforts can't. So we depend entirely on you! But the response to support Charles has been so strong and so fast, that if we could have used the Fair Elections program, we would have broken all records and qualified in less than five hours! Your support helps make this happen! Please, chip in now [[link removed]] .
