Amazon: Respect workers' rights now

Friend,

I hope you and your loved ones are staying healthy. In light of the current health crisis, when millions of Americans are turning to Amazon for essentials, join us in calling on Amazon to provide adequate protections to all its workers who are on the front lines of the crisis!

Just this week, workers at 10 different Amazon warehouses in the US have tested positive for the virus. Research suggests that the virus can live on cardboard for up to 24 hours, meaning Amazon is not only jeopardizing the health and safety of workers but their consumers too. This needs to stop.

Currently, Amazon plays a unique role providing deliveries of necessary goods, and those individuals working throughout Amazon’s supply chain are essential and should be treated as such. Amazon must prioritize the health of its workers over profits.

If you are thinking twice about ordering from Amazon, check out these alternatives!

Finally, we rarely have good news to share about Amazon, but just last week, workers won paid time off for all Amazon employees (including part-time and seasonal workers), AND Amazon announced plans for four new renewable energy projects.

These wins demonstrate that when consumers and workers come together, we have tremendous power and can hold even the largest corporations accountable, so please join me in calling on Amazon to respect the rights of workers throughout its entire supply chain!

Thank you for all that you do,

Charlotte Tate
