Last night, hundreds of people from across the country joined us for our National Strategy Call, where we shared our organizing plans to advance our movement for Medicare for All in 2024.
We officially published those plans today: read our latest Medium post to check them out and get involved right away!
During the call, we heard from Jean Ross, RN, and President of National Nurses United; Tennessee State Rep. Aftyn Behn who signed the Patients Over Profits pledge shortly after being elected last year; and Terri Falbo, board member of Medicare for All Florida, who spoke about how they will partner with us on our programs this year.
We are facing a deep crisis in our health care system. It may not be receiving the coverage it deserves in the media, and it certainly isn’t receiving the attention it requires in Washington D.C., but it is a crisis nonetheless. 2024 is an important election year, and nurses have a clear message for politicians: listen to your constituents, not the corporate health care industry.
We want to shine a spotlight on the relationship between the corporate health care industry and politicians, and show how corporate money is blocking the change we need. By shining this light, we hope to start to break up this cozy relationship.
While we weaken the power of the industry over politicians, we also need to strengthen the power of everyday people. We need to continue to build public support for Medicare for All, and we need to demonstrate the popular support that is already there.
That’s why we’re renewing the fight for Medicare for All with a Weekend of Action on April 6th & 7th, launching as many canvasses as possible to build support and conduct a nationwide survey on our health care system.
We’re also continuing to build out our Patients Over Profits campaign to get for-profit health care industry money out of our politics, and we need more special teams volunteers to help at in-person events, doing outreach to candidates and elected officials, and with research.

We’re also looking to partner on both of these programs with state and local grassroots groups who work on health care justice. We know that local groups have the knowledge and relationships to grow the scale of these programs and make them even more impactful. If you’re a representative of an organized grassroots group that would like to partner with us in 2024, please fill out this form and we’ll send you more information.
Nurses have been leading the fight for health care justice for decades, and we will not give up until we win. We hope you will join us.
In solidarity,
Nurses’ Campaign to Win Medicare for All
