It’s no secret that a disproportionate number of politicians in power are people who look like me (but add a few decades). We’re trying to change that.

The Democratic Lt. Governors Association is a relatively new national party committee. Just like the other Democratic Party committee, we’re committed to electing Democrats — but not just any Democrats.

We work to elect Democrats who reflect the communities they represent — like Garlin Gilchrist, who is the first Black American to serve Michigan as lieutenant governor!

We center the voices of Democrats who can push our Party forward — like Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan, who is the first Native American to chair a national party committee!

We invest in Democrats who are winning in red and purple states — like Lt. Governor Sara Rodriguez who flipped a red seat blue in Wisconsin!

The DLGA is changing the face and voice of the Democratic Party to truly reflect America. But because we’re the new kids on the block, we don’t have the same type of institutional support that bigger organizations do. That means we rely on grassroots donors like you even more to be able to invest in our great Democratic candidates. We have a goal of raising $5,000 this Black History Month to support our efforts to elect diverse candidates. Can we count on you to chip in $ before Thursday to help us hit it?
