Legislative Updates

I was proud to host our first Pre-K-12 Appropriation Subcommittee meeting of the year in Lansing last week. It was a great opportunity to reflect on what we’ve done in the past year to move public education forward and support our students and teachers while also exploring what our next steps need to be taken in order to keep investing in our schools and improving access to high quality education.

This committee meeting was the first in a series of many conversations that we will be having as we work to craft the next school aid budget, and I look forward to sharing the progress that we are making to support public education.

Community Updates

I want to thank everyone who came out to our Clean Energy Town Hall on Monday at the Bacon Memorial Library in Wyandotte. It was great to discuss how the legislation that we passed last fall will help create new jobs here in Downriver and Western Wayne and put us on the path towards 100% renewable energy by 2040.

Spending time in my district and having face-to-face conversations with my neighbors is one of my top priorities as your State Senator. I look forward to sharing details on more in-district events soon, and encourage you to stay engaged with our E-Newsletters and our Facebook page so that you can find more information on our next event in your community.

If there is an event in your community that you would like for myself or my team to attend, I encourage you to share it with our office. We’re always looking to congratulate the opening of new businesses and celebrate our amazing neighbors across Downriver and Western Wayne.

I thank you for taking the time to stay engaged with our office. If you have any questions or comments on legislation, community issues, or any matter that is important to you [please feel free to reach out to my office here]([link removed]).
