Commonsense Border Management Solutions- A newly updated white paper by Dennis E. Nixon, CEO, International Bank of Commerce Laredo, and Texas Chairman, International Bancshares Corporation, discusses the current state of the border and proposes effective and commonsense border management solutions including increased penalties for migrants who cross the border illegally. Nixon also highlights why work-based immigration is essential for U.S. economic growth due to slowing U.S. population growth and workforce shortages. In addition, he calls for the implementation of immigration and asylum policies that help to address America’s need for workers while improving border security, including hiring more immigration judges and reforming the immigration court and asylum systems to process migrants more efficiently.

In reality, this is an unconstitutional bailout and the debt is not canceled or forgiven—it will be paid for by hardworking American taxpayers. The latest announcement has rightly led to some confusion, considering the Supreme Court ruled in June of 2023 that the Biden administration overstepped its authority through the Administration's first attempt to "cancel" up to $400 billion in student loans.

Sen. Cruz Introduces Legislation to Ban Central Bank Digital Currencies - The CBDC Anti-Surveillance State Act would prohibit the Federal Reserve from issuing a CBDC directly to anyone, ensuring the Federal Reserve can’t mobilize itself into a retail bank. It would also bar the Federal Reserve from issuing a CBDC indirectly to individuals through financial institutions or other third parties, as well as prevent the Federal Reserve from using a CBDC as a tool to implement monetary policy and control the economy. Finally, the bill would require authorizing legislation from Congress for the issuance of any CBDC.
