John,
In the aftermath of the horrific shootings in Dayton and El Paso, Coloradans
have been speaking out for change. We have gathered to mourn the loss of
innocent lives, we called our representatives and we protested the lack of
action coming out of Washington D.C.
Our Senator should be standing up like the rest of us; standing up to Mitch
McConnell for blocking universal background checks and mandatory waiting
periods for gun purchases. But Cory Gardner has made it clear he’s only willing
to send his thoughts and prayers.
“I don’t support gun control.” - Senator Cory Gardner said earlier this week
That’s the kind of response you’d expect from a politician who has taken over
$3.88 million from the corporate gun lobby. We can’t afford a Senator who sits
back and does nothing while the carnage of gun violence continues. Cory Gardner
is part of the problem.
The only way we’re going to make progress nationally on this issue is to
replace the Republicans in Washington who have failed time and time again to
take action.
Click here to share my statement on last weekend's massacres. We need to be
clear with Cory Gardner and the corporate gun lobbyists who support him:
Coloradans are ready for common sense action, and if you won't do it, we will
get a Senator who will.
