Hi John,

Shell is trying to silence you.

They’re suing Greenpeace for millions of dollars because of a peaceful climate protest [1]. But together we can prove that our people-powered movement will not back down to their intimidation.

So here’s the plan: we’re going to get hundreds of thousands of people to sign our open letter expressing their outrage at Shell’s lawsuit against us. That will show the court and Shell that public opinion is firmly on our side.

So please add your name now to support our fight in court.

Shell is suing us because 6 brave Greenpeace activists peacefully protested on one of their oil platforms last year, as it was heading to the North Sea to unlock new wells. [2] They are trying to crush us because we’re taking them head on, as we campaign for them to stop drilling for new fossil fuels and start paying for the climate damage they’re causing.

This multimillion dollar lawsuit is one of the biggest threats Greenpeace has faced in our 53 year history. And if Shell wins, it could have a chilling effect on anyone who wants to stand up to the fossil fuel industry ever again.

We have to fight this case and we need you to stand with us every step of the way. Shell may have billions of dollars, but we have millions of people like you on our side.

So we’ve just launched an open letter to Shell which we plan to draw attention to when we have our day in court. If enough people sign this letter, it shows the court just how outraged the public are by Shell’s intimidation. Every signature shows the court that the public is on our side - so please add your name now!

This is a David vs. Goliath fight, but we’re not giving up and we’re not backing down.

Shell is out there right now drilling for new fossil fuels, which means more devastating heatwaves and storms around the world. So the stakes are too high for us to stop protesting and demanding that they stop drilling and start paying for THEIR climate chaos.

If you stand with us against Shell please add your name to our open letter now. Every signature will help show the court that public opinion is on our side - so believe me when I say that we can take on Shell together and win together!

Thanks for all that you do,

Aiyan Maharasingam
