John, Central Ohio residents can still vote for Morgan by absentee ballot before April 28.

No one anticipated the impacts of a global pandemic on voting in this primary, but we are ready to face the challenges posed by this unprecedented situation and we’re prepared to win. This is our moment to vote for leaders who will fight for people struggling to make it through this crisis, and not for corporations lining up for no-strings-attached bailouts.

Ohio has taken precautions to ensure voting can be done safely: they’ve extended the March 17th election and are allowing mail-in absentee ballot votes until April 28. We’re mobilizing quickly to urge safe participation and inform voters about the new multi-step process:

Step 1: Go to voteohio.gov to request an application for an absentee ballot as soon as possible.
Step 2: Print the application, then complete it, stamp it, and mail it to the Board of Elections.
Step 3: The Board of Elections will process your application and send you an absentee ballot in the mail.
Step 4: Once you’ve received and completed it, postmark your completed mail-in absentee ballot by April 27.

However, we believe the voices of real, working people across Columbus are still at risk with this new voting process. We know our community is preoccupied with lost jobs, upcoming bills, unstable housing, and caring for children and elder relatives under a stay-at-home health order, not the details of a new voting process. And not everyone has access to print and stamp an application to request a ballot from home. Our movement wants to make sure that no one is disenfranchised by the new process during this pandemic, because we know every vote counts.
