*Coronavirus Update
for Social Security Beneficiaries*

As our nation
confronts the enormous public health challenge and economic crisis
resulting from the coronavirus outbreak, I'm pleased to share that under the
*CARES Act,* that will soon become law, *Social Security beneficiaries
are eligible to receive a $1,200 per person ($2,400 per couple)
rebate. *The rebates are subject to a $75,000 income threshold ($150,000
for joint filers) with a limited phase out above the thresholds*.
*

Seniors on Social Security and Americans receiving Social Security
Disability Income are both eligible. *Folks on Social Security are treated
the same as everyone else. *

Depending on whether you filed a tax
return or not, Social Security recipients will receive payment either from
the Department of Treasury or the Social Security Administration.
However, if you did not file a tax return for 2019 or 2018, the best way
to ensure you quickly receive a recovery rebate is to file a 2019 tax
return. This could be accomplished for free online from home using the
IRS Free file program
(*[link removed] [link 1]*). **

*You should see this extra
money in your wallets in the coming few weeks!
