As Democrats, we believe we call Americans to their highest values. We believe the stories we tell in our campaigns and the policies we enact can make people’s lives better.

Pete’s running for president because, in this is a make-or-break moment, we need to think big. There’s no time to waste building a fairer economy, saving our planet, and tackling hate, discrimination, and violence wherever they show up -- all of it depends on striving for better.

It’s also the history of our Democratic Party. We were the party that pulled a nation out of despair with a New Deal, sent a team of astronauts to the moon, and not so long ago, elected a president who made us all believe that “Yes, we can.”

Our best days are ahead of us, so long as we meet this moment with the urgency it requires. It’s incumbent upon all of us to be a part of that -- to lead with the ideals of our party, firmly and visibly, from the top of the ticket down. We’ll be at our best with a strong Democratic National Committee.

When we make it past the primary, it’s the DNC that will provide invaluable resources and technology not only for our campaign, but for Democrats across the country. They have a plan to organize everywhere and ensure that every ZIP code counts to live up to this defining moment.
