John,

Can you believe it's already the last day of Black Futures Month? Don't worry, though. We're ending on a high note!

Firstly, Black Futures Month is just the intro to Black Futures YEAR. We're the ones who determine how long this celebration and acknowledgment of our people and culture lasts. So, from now on, it kicks off in February and ends... well, never. For us at BLM, you can continue to expect to see posts, stories, films, and programs centered around Black people.

Secondly, we still have a throwback Thursday to deliver today, John. Many people still wonder why we're honoring Black Futures Month; well, it began not only to recognize Black history and achievement but soon became about also celebrating a new generation of champions, leaders, and advocates fighting for racial equity and justice. It's remained a visionary and forward-looking initiative inspired by Black movement leaders.

Lastly, let's remember that radically imagining Black Futures is a crucial step in building a world where all Black people are self-determined, liberated, and free. We embrace our collective past daily and know our struggle is beautiful and takes many forms — from Black love to Black art, from Black intellectualism to Black organizing – This is a YEAR to us, our history, and our futures.

John, chip into Black Lives Matter now so we can continue educating and doing programming like Black Futures Month in the future.
