What do Joe Biden and Donald Trump have in common?
Usually not a lot, but today, both will visit the southern border.
Trump is visiting in support of Governor Greg Abbott and his inhumane decision to keep up razor wires and buoys along the border that put migrants in danger, despite direct orders from the Supreme Court to have them removed.
Biden is visiting to make a call for additional border security, in the hopes that going after immigrants will win him more support in November.
The border promises to be a hot-button issue for the rest of the election year, but both Biden and Trump’s political stunts are bound to draw attention away from actual solutions.
Migrants are being put in physical danger every day while these men use them as scapegoats to advance in the polls. It’s disgusting, but not all that surprising.
That’s why UWDA exists — to demand more of our politicians and pressure our government to produce actual solutions.
Can you rush an urgent contribution today ahead of Biden and Trump’s border visits to push back against their unfair narratives and fight for human rights and dignity for all immigrants?
