Dear Friend,

We’re already two months into 2024, but there’s still time for you to join the museum as a member!

The American Air Museum in Britain needs patriots like you to support our eye-opening exhibitions and kid-friendly educational programs, conserve 19 historic military aircraft and hundreds of unique artifacts, and expand our online archives and curated story content.

We’re leaning on our members more than ever this year, as we get ready to commemorate the 80th anniversary of key World War II events, like the D-Day invasion and the Battle of the Bulge.

Please take a moment to join today, and you’ll receive a membership card as our way of saying thank you!

This year’s card features the North American Aviation P-51D Mustang, a versatile fighter and fighter-bomber used extensively in World War II and the Korean War (captured by aviation photographer Philip Makanna). I hope it serves as a proud reminder of all the important history and brave heroes you’re supporting with your membership.

Thank you,

Brandon P. Gregory

Subject: Shine a light on honorable American heroes of the skies

Dear Friend,

American airmen who flew from Britain helped win World War II, shaping history as we know it. As we lose more members of the “Greatest Generation” every year, the service and sacrifice of these valiant airmen is fading from the world’s memory.

But through your support, the American Air Museum in Britain is keeping their incredible stories alive for audiences around the world—most recently through the new World War II drama series, Masters of the Air, which debuted on Apple TV on January 26 and highlights stories of American airmen that members like you have helped to preserve. You can read more about their stories when you visit our online archives.

Kirk Saduski, Producer of the Masters of the Air series, says "If you want to understand the broader context of Masters of the Air, there is no better place to start, than the American Air Museum at IWM Duxford." And we are able to do this work because of friends like you.

When you join the American Air Museum in Britain as a member, you’re honoring these heroes who took to the skies to defend our freedom and ensuring their legacy is never forgotten. As a token of our heartfelt gratitude, you’ll receive a free digital membership card to download and display with pride.

This year we will be commemorating the 80th anniversary of pivotal World War II actions like the D-Day invasion, Operation Market Garden, and the Battle of the Bulge. Last week was the 80th anniversary of “Big Week,” a series of consecutive bombing raids on aircraft assembly plants in Germany. This was an all-out effort by the USAAF and the RAF to wrestle air superiority from the Luftwaffe ahead of Operation Overload. We’re going to do all that we can to make sure that the historic achievements of these brave patriots get the recognition they deserve.

As a friend of the museum, you’re preserving the stories of American airmen who flew from British airfields during World War II to protect liberty and fight against tyranny. You’re helping curators, educators, and dedicated museum staff conserve and display 19 historic military aircraft and countless other important artifacts. And you’re sustaining eye-opening exhibits, educational programming, digital resources, and so much more.

Joining as a museum member today unlocks valuable benefits, like a VIP pass for a full year of free admission, a subscription to American Air Museum News, and an exclusive 360 virtual tour of the museum’s exhibits and aircraft.

From witnessing the groundbreaking design of the North American Aviation P-51D Mustang (featured on this year’s membership card!) to learning why the 100th Bomb Group earned the nickname “The Bloody Hundredth,” there is so much important history to absorb here.

Your membership keeps stories of courage, resilience, and devotion alive, so please join the museum today!

Thank you for your generosity and commitment to our American heroes.

Sincerely,

Brandon P. Gregory
