Dear John,
What an amazing launch week for Sunrise School. We knew it was important people had a space to learn skills and concepts that would give them agency in a time where so much feels out of our control. We expected a lot of interest in the Green New Deal & Coronavirus Crash Course , and prepared for maybe 600 people to sign up.
In reality, over 3,500 people registered. We are completely stunned—and more determined than ever to meet the obviously huge demand for these important trainings.
We need your help to support all these students and make sure space is available for each and every one of them. Zoom can only hold so many people per call, so we’ve had to upgrade our accounts and host multiple virtual classrooms to accommodate everyone. Can you chip in so we have enough room for everyone to participate? [[link removed]]

With a second course starting in just a few days, we’re expecting even more people to sign up. While normally we’d be ecstatic over such incredible growth of the program, we’re honestly a little worried. We don’t want to force people onto waitlists. Plus, we know that the more young leaders we develop and support during quarantine, the more powerful the movement will be as a whole once we’re able to hit the streets again.
Can you contribute to make sure we are able to host the thousands of students interested in Sunrise School courses next week? [[link removed]]
Together, we’ll come out the other side of this swinging.
Aru Shiney-Ajay, Training Director
