Opening the Books, a new investigation into Pittsburgh's wealthiest universities' finances, launched this week. The first story looks at the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University endowments and their decreasingly transparent private, offshore investments.
After more than half of Chatham University's faculty signed cards declaring their intent to unionize, the university decided not to voluntarily recognize their emerging union and instead kicked the case to the National Labor Relations Board.
