John,
Sara reached out to you yesterday about important state Supreme Court races in Michigan and Ohio, and I want to give you a little more information.
But first—February is a short month, and we’re still $2985 short of our end-of-month goal. Can you join us with a gift of any amount to support our fight for reproductive freedom?
In 2020, we helped flip the Michigan court to pro-choice control, which paved the way for abortion rights victories two years later. And this past November, we won additional state Supreme Court victories in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
Last year, Ohio voters passed a ballot initiative to enshrine abortion rights in the state constitution, in an enormous victory. But many anti-choice laws remain on the books, and litigation on them will likely reach the Supreme Court in multiple cases.
And in Michigan, abortion is legal, but there are still medically-unnecessary restrictions, like mandated counseling and 24-hour waiting periods. To ensure that abortion is truly accessible—not just legal—we must continue to build on our past victories.
Before the end of the day, can you join us with a contribution to help us scale our work in these key races?
In gratitude,
Maris Nyhart

John,
It’s no secret that this is a big election year. But there are hundreds of contests this year that haven’t gotten enough attention—or investment.
District Attorneys, judges, and city councilors have enormous power over the future of reproductive freedom. Can you join our efforts to elect pro-choice champions to these offices with a gift of $24?
Without constitutional protections for abortion in most states, these community leaders have the ability to protect and expand abortion access—or criminalize healthcare providers and patients.
Just last week, the Alabama Supreme Court jeopardized the care of IVF patients across the state when it ruled that embryos must be considered children. As a result, many doctors stopped providing care, under the threat of criminal punishment.
We’ve previously worked to secure pro-choice control of state courts in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, and we’re urgently building on that momentum.
This year, we’re focused on protecting the pro-choice majority on the Michigan Supreme Court, and gaining pro-choice control of the Ohio Supreme Court, both of which will decide cases involving abortion access, voting rights, and more of our fundamental freedoms.
Our end-of-month fundraising deadline is looming, and we’re still $4245 short. Will you join us with a gift of any amount, so that we can continue to invest in these critical judicial races?
In gratitude,
