Following the tragic attack in Dayton on Sunday, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine ordered flags to remain at half mast in honor and memory of the victims who lost their lives. He issued?this statement?and traveled to Dayton, joining Mayor Nan Whaley, state legislators, and other officials.
On Tuesday, Governor DeWine, along with Lt. Governor Jon Husted,?announced 17 proposals to reduce gun violence and increase mental health treatment.
At?Dayton Children's Hospital on Thursday,?Governor DeWine and Lt. Governor Husted announced that the Governor along with the Ohio Children's Hospital Association will host an event called "Building Resiliency: A Pediatric Mental Health Summit" in September in Dayton to help communities support the mental health needs of kids.
