As a Communications Consultant 5, you will be responsible for delivering strategic communications support to various divisions and initiatives within the DES. Your role will involve overseeing the strategic communication efforts for one or more divisions and programs, and/or agency initiatives with a focus on managing complex public information activities. You'll play a crucial role in crisis and emergency communication efforts, ensuring effective messaging during challenging situations. Serving as a spokesperson for the agency, you will engage with the news media, stakeholders, and the public, representing the agency's interests with clarity and professionalism. Your expertise will be instrumental in advising agency leadership on public information issues and policies, contributing to the decision-making process at both strategic and operational levels.
