John,
There are moments that call for all of us to raise our voices for peace and justice. We're in just such a moment right now, as the people of Gaza, particularly in Rafah, face an unprecedented crisis.
Over the past four months, Israel has waged a campaign of collective retribution against the people of Gaza. Many across the world reacted with horror and outrage after Hamas attacked Israel on October 7. But since then, the IDF has killed nearly 30,000 Palestinians, most of them civilians, and displaced millions more.
Most of these refugees — more than one million — have fled to the city of Rafah. This isn't just a number: it's families, children, the elderly, all crammed into makeshift shelters with little hope for safety.
And there's nowhere else for them to run.
Now, Prime Minister Netanyahu says that Israel will invade this last refuge for Palestinians in Gaza as soon as March. This would not only escalate what's already a humanitarian catastrophe — it has the potential to spark a broader regional war, drawing in forces around the region.
Silence is not an option. The Working Families Party, alongside allies and peace and justice-loving people worldwide, is renewing the call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
We urge the Biden Administration, Congress, international bodies, and leaders around the globe to take decisive action to end this destruction.

This is about more than geopolitics: it's about our collective moral compass, our commitment to human rights, and our shared responsibility to save as many innocent lives as possible.
An invasion of Rafah would do nothing to return the remaining hostages held by Hamas, or to bring lasting security to the region. In fact, it could derail any hope for a lasting peace.
To elected leaders and everyday people across lines of race, faith, or nation: now is the time to unite for peace. If you haven’t joined this growing movement yet, this is the moment.
Nearly seventy Members of Congress and U.S. Senators have called for a ceasefire so far, but we need more.
Imagine if it were your family, your children, in Rafah right now. The fear, the uncertainty, the desperation — they're all too real for millions. This isn't about distant politics. It's about human lives. Your voice can make a difference.
Together, let's stand for peace, for justice, and for a future where we all live in peace, security, and freedom — my family, your family, and the Palestinian families in Rafah who need all of us to raise our voices.
