Hi John,

Today, the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) released the 2023 National Environmental Scorecard. Have you checked the scores for your members of Congress yet? [[link removed]]

The 2023 Scorecard shows the stark contrast between pro-environmental members and extreme Republicans in Congress. This year, many in our state’s delegation worked to fight back against attacks on our democracy and environmental protections, unleashed by a Republican-led House catering to Big Polluters and the most extreme wing of their conference.

This was a dramatic change from 2022, when climate champions led both the House and Senate and passed the most significant climate and clean energy investments in American history. In 2023, some in our state’s delegation supported legislation that benefits people and the planet, while some, unfortunately, actively worked against it. This type of Congressional gridlock was one of the least productive Congresses ever.

Both of Oregon’s U.S. Senators, Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley received perfect 100% scores, proving once again that they are climate and environmental champions.

Help us thank Senators Wyden and Merkley by sending them an email and sharing our post on Twitter [[link removed]], Facebook [[link removed]], or Instagram [[link removed]]! [[link removed]]

Three of Oregon’s U.S. Representatives received perfect 100% scores: Reps. Bonamici, Hoyle, and Salinas! And our all-star climate champ Rep. Blumenauer will retire after this term with a 95% lifetime score! On the other hand, Rep. Bentz received a whopping 0% (yikes), and Rep. Chavez-Deremer received a disappointing 31%.

Send an email to your U.S. Representative thanking them if they are a climate champ or ask them to do better if they got a failing score! [[link removed]] And don't forget to share our post on Twitter [[link removed]], Facebook [[link removed]], and Instagram [[link removed]]!

Thank you for all you do!
