If you’ve got a minute to spare, I want to tell you a bit about me, and why I’m in this fight.

I don’t look like most politicians in D.C. I grew up in a town of hundreds, not thousands. My wife Sharla and I farm the same land my great grandparents homesteaded more than 100 years ago, and every winter we butcher our own beef.

And, I still get $12 flattop haircuts. See?

I’m the Senate’s only working dirt farmer -- and I know firsthand how important it is to bring the voices of rural America to Washington. Montana communities and farmers experience struggles that most folks couldn’t imagine, and I’ve fought hard to deliver on the issues that matter.

From bringing high-speed internet access to our rural towns to leading the charge against Big Ag, there’s a lot that I’m proud of. But there’s a lot more work to be done.

Mitch McConnell’s made me his #1 target, so this could be my toughest race yet. I’m facing tens of millions of dollars worth of attack ads that will try to turn me into someone I’m not because the truth is my opponents know they can’t beat who I am.
