ACLU Supporter, we're defending trans rights at the Supreme Court. We just asked SCOTUS to reject an attempt to deny Idaho families the freedom to pursue gender-affirming medical care for their transgender youth – after the state passed a bill last year banning this care. We've already blocked this law in District Court. Now, Idaho has sought an emergency stay at the Supreme Court – so we're fighting back and prepping to win again. We'll keep succeeding with this fight in court, but it's crucial that legislation like the type we're fighting in Idaho never becomes law in the first place. That's why, as we fight back in court, we're also pressuring Congressmembers nationwide to publicly support the transgender community and reject any national bans. Call on your Congressmembers today to protect trans care now.
Our wins in court send a clear message – that trans people have a constitutionally protected right to access gender-affirming health care. But we continue to face extreme, discriminatory legislation in states and across the country – proving that our fight to uphold and defend trans rights has to continue at every level. ACLU Supporter, trans people have the right to live their lives free of discrimination. Access to gender-affirming care is lifesaving – and we will never allow transphobic lawmakers to strip that right away from those who need it. Our members of Congress must act now to protect trans rights – including voting down any ban on gender-affirming care. Bans like these can never become the law of the land. We hope you'll join us in the fight to protect trans care today. The ACLU Team |
