Friend,
Over the last year, Republican Congress members have tried to cut spending for veterans, women, infants, and more in the name of “lowering our federal deficit,” but they continue to refuse to increase revenue by holding the wealthy and corporations accountable for their fair share of taxes.
Last week, the IRS released a report showing the US is missing out on $150 Billion a year from millionaire and billionaire tax evasion. Collecting the taxes millionaires and billionaires owe, with no policy changes, would decrease our deficit by 10%.
MAKE THEM PAY THEIR FAIR SHARE [[link removed]]
We learned in the '90s that trickle-down economics doesn’t work – letting the wealthiest Americans and corporations use tricks to avoid paying their fair share of taxes has led to the widest wealth gap in our nation's history. The rich have gotten richer, the poor have gotten poorer, and the middle class is shrinking by the minute. And Republicans in Congress are letting them get away with all of it.
House Republicans can complain about the deficit all they want, but when it comes to making real moves, they’re all talk and no action.
DEMOCRATS TAKE ACTION [[link removed]]
Tomorrow is the last day of the month and the first of two government spending deadlines. While Nydia is with her colleagues in Congress taking action against the slim Republican majority, fighting to pass a budget that doesn’t leave any of our working families behind, help us supercharge her end-of-month fundraising with a donation today >> [[link removed]]
CHIP IN TO TAKE BACK THE HOUSE [[link removed]]
Let’s get real leaders back in the House majority and back to holding the wealthy and corporations accountable for their fair share,
