John,
As the fallout from the House of Commons ceasefire debate continues, the Green Party’s stance on the issue is clear: an immediate ceasefire and ramping up of action against the Israeli government until the killing stops.

The Green Party has demanded a scaling up of action against Israel including an end to arms sales, prosecutions of war criminals and targeted sanctions on the country’s leaders. In an article for Middle East Eye co-leader Carla Denyer wrote “As the Palestinian death toll heads inexorably towards 30,000, and with no signs that Israel is willing to end the bloodshed, now is the time for the UK to scale up actions... until the killing stops.“

There has been widespread condemnation of Labour’s decision to ditch its £28 billion green investment plan. Interviewed on a special Newsnight programme on the U-turn, Caroline Lucas MP said “The bottom line is we know the climate emergency is getting worse. It won’t just wait until Labour’s fiscal rules find it convenient for the investment to happen. There are such things as existential threats and that’s what we face right now.”

Co-leader Adrian Ramsay has called for a new approach for dentistry, starting with contracts for NHS dentists that cover the costs of care. People living in his Waveney Valley constituency have the lowest chance nationally of getting an appointment to see a NHS dentist, according to new data. Adrian is carrying out his own survey of 42,000 households in his constituency and plans to use the data to fight for better local dental and GP services.

The Green Party has launched a campaign for a new law to make people aware of the dangers of contaminated landfill close to their homes and ensure action is taken to make the sites safe. Zane’s Law is called after seven-year-old Zane Gbangbola, who died ten years ago after his Surrey home was flooded with water from the river Thames, which had passed through a contaminated site nearby. The campaign has been championed in the House of Lords by Natalie Bennett and earlier this month Lewes council became the first council in England to pass a motion calling for Zanes’s law. Here's more campaign information on how to get involved - sign the petition, write to your MP and much more.

The race for London Mayor is heating up. Green candidate Zoë Garbett gave a brilliant performance in an LBC phone-in earlier this month. She said she favoured “a fairer, smarter road charging system” over the congestion charge and ULEZ, based on distance driven, vehicle emissions and the time of day and location. In a wide-ranging discussion, she called for better quality housing for all Londoners and an end to the war on drugs.

Waveney Valley: In a recent political podcast, New Statesman journalist Ben Walker said that "the Greens will come through and strike gold" in the constituency. A record 90 people came to the last Action Weekend and there's definitely momentum behind the campaign.
Brighton held a packed out campaign reveal on the 10th of February alongside the youth led Green New Deal Rising. After thousands of conversations the volunteer powered team has had with residents, it's clear that people want to see water back in the hands of the community, action on NHS waiting times and for the housing crisis to be urgently tackled.

Bristol are analysing results of a survey delivered to every household in the constituency. Results so far show almost all Labour voters think we need more Greens in parliament. Plus the survey has boosted the campaign by recruiting volunteers and donors.

Green leaders from across the UK met in London this week to highlight the importance of voting Green in the upcoming general election. Carla Denyer and Adrian Ramsey met with Patrick Harvie and Lorna Slater, co-leaders of the Scottish Greens, Anthony Slaughter, Wales leader and Malachai O’Hara, leader of the Greens in Northern Ireland, to discuss the damage done by 13 years of Tory rule and recent U-turns by both the Conservatives and Labour on green investment. They agreed getting more Greens MPs elected will be crucial to push the next government to do the right thing for people and planet.
“People are looking for hope. That’s what they are saying, either explicitly or implicitly, when they speak to me on the doorstep – And that’s what the Greens offer. “ Carla Denyer said.
Please help us get the next generation of Green MPs elected by supporting our 4 for 24 campaign.

Have a great week.
