American Muckrakers scored a major victory in the fight to hold Lauren Boebert accountable for her many lies, untruths, and defamatory statements: the Colorado judge overseeing our defamation suit against Boebert just ruled that Boebert’s frivolous motion to dismiss is hereby DENIED: |

Boebert and her high-priced legal team had hoped to prevent our lawsuit from proceeding to the discovery phase—during which, we will be able to subpoena Boebert for documents, any relevant conversations she may have had about our case, and force Boebert to sit down for a lengthy video deposition.
Any lies she tells during this process would be considered perjury and punishable with potential prison time.
Boebert’s sad and futile legal effort, while draining her campaign coffers of money she is going to need to run for election in a brand new congressional district, simply delays the inevitable: a full accounting of her many statements and actions that have harmed groups like ours and our supporters who have merely exercised their First Amendment rights promoting our fact-based research and public awareness efforts.
Listen, John—you are the reason we have gotten this far. Without your support, we would have had to give up on our lawsuit a long time ago and never would have gotten to the threshold of the Discovery phase.
Grilling Boebert on camera about the factual basis of our claims is now just a matter of time. But we need to keep up our fundraising to be as prepared as we possibly can for this process, and for all of the roadblocks Boebert and her expensive legal team will throw in the way.
