John —
One year ago today, we made history. After securing a Democratic majority for the first time in over a decade, I was — and continue to be — so honored to serve our Commonwealth as the first woman Speaker of the Pennsylvania State House. Breaking this glass ceiling was long overdue.
In the year since, House Democrats and I have demonstrated why we need Democrats and women in power — when we’re in power, Pennsylvanians are better off.
We have taken action to improve education opportunities for students across the Commonwealth, support and empower workers, take care of our veterans, safeguard patients’ rights, and enhance public safety. The State House has sent over 175 bills to the State Senate and is paving the path for progress in Pennsylvania.
All that we have achieved over the last year continues to be a testament to your organizing efforts, your community building, and your values. When we declared our majority after the 2022 elections, we were ahead by two seats which we secured by just about 70 and 55 votes. And since then, we have defended our majority in six special elections.
John, when we stand united in the fight for progress, we can move mountains and make history. There’s still a lot of work left to be done, and I need your help to ensure House Democrats stay in power. Can I count on you to help protect and expand our Democratic majority? [[link removed]]
