Can I be real with you, folks?

I never in a million years could have imagined that this is how life would end up for me. When I was a little girl, you could have given me a million guesses about my future and this would not have been one of them.

At the time, all I cared about was focusing on ballet and playing with friends. I never dreamed I’d run for public office – let alone make history as the first woman and person of color to represent Delaware in Congress.

I would have never thought that I’d have another chance to make history and run for the Senate. Or even have the fate of the Senate majority rest on our race!

It would have been unimaginable to me that thousands of you would hear my story and chip in your hard-earned dollars to ensure I have the resources to win.

Like so many Americans, my entire life has been about breaking barriers, which is why I need your help to break one of the highest glass ceilings in politics.
