Dear Fourth District Constituent,
Reminder: I invite you to join me for my next Virtual Update from Washington this Friday, March 1, at 12pm CT. Friday is the first deadline for one of the two short-term funding bills that are keeping the federal government open temporarily. Negotiations on Fiscal Year 2024 spending bills continue, but time has run out to have final language to vote on before Friday's deadline. Will Republicans controlling the House keep the government open and functioning with a Continuing Resolution, or will they force a shutdown that puts services for the American people at risk? And if a short-term funding bill passes, will Republicans finally agree to a bipartisan path forward instead of continuing to push their extreme policy riders?
This Friday, I will update you on all of this this as well as a bill I've just reintroduced, and answer your submitted questions.
