February was a month full of sober anniversaries concerning UNFPA’s work to deliver lifesaving care to women and girls around the globe.

On February 6th, we marked one year since the first of a string of devastating earthquakes and aftershocks was recorded in Syria and Türkiye. 3 million people had to flee their homes and more than 55,000 were killed.

Then over the weekend, February 24th marked two years since the invasion of Ukraine began. Women and girls are still suffering as war continues to exacerbate the risks of violence against women, sexual exploitation, and abuse.

And of course, we cannot forget about Gaza — where the unprecedented humanitarian crisis entered its fifth month. 2.2 million people are on the brink of famine, one in six children are acutely malnourished, and the nightmare is only getting worse for women and girls.

It is easy to feel jaded and powerless with so much pain in the world. But through it all, thousands of generous supporters - like you - stepped up to make a difference.

And what a difference it has made:

Your gifts make a difference. As these crises and more persist globally, posing threats to the lives of women and girls and their access to sexual and reproductive health care, I'm calling on you to make a difference today:

Will you make a tax-deductible donation to deliver lifesaving care to Gaza, Ukraine, Syria, Türkiye, and wherever your help is needed most? Here’s a secure link you can use to donate: [link removed] [[link removed]]

As always, UNFPA deeply regrets the end of the humanitarian pause in Gaza. We condemn the violence in Israel, Gaza, and the West Bank, including all sexual violence against women, and echo the UN Secretary-General’s call for a sustained humanitarian ceasefire and for the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages by Hamas.

Thank you for being there for women and girls.
