VIDEO OF THE DAY: Lifelong Republican drops bomb on Trump live on Fox News
George W. Bush speechwriter, Fox News contributor, and lifelong Republican Marc Thiessen dropped some unfortunate truths on Donald Trump, who is desperately trying to cast the GOP as more united than ever behind his candidacy, despite troubling evidence to the contrary. We may be headed for the most bizarre and consequential election in our lifetime, but only one candidate is currently enjoying the overwhelming support of his party — President Biden.

GOP state committee candidate Lori Kauffman running on platform of "expelling the Jews"
Republicans in the First Suffolk district of Massachusetts will soon decide who will represent them on the Republican State Committee, and one candidate stands out among the rest for all the wrong reasons. Lori Kauffman — who grew up Jewish — loves Kanye West and Adolf Hitler, wants to exile Jews from the US, and blames the COVID-19 vaccine for giving her brain cancer. She's also a transphobe. Very nuanced.

Trump beats Nikki Haley in Michigan GOP primary with 68% of vote; 14,000 voters still cast ballots for Ron DeSantis, who exited race more than a month ago
The serially indicted, disgraced ex-president won yet another GOP primary, this time in Michigan, easily beating Nikki Haley and some guy named Ron DeSantis, who mustered more than 14,000 votes despite dropping out of the race on January 22. Haley vowed to press on until at least Super Tuesday, stating, "I'm doing what I think is right. I’m doing what I believe 70% of Americans want me to do," proving her command of arithmetic is as tenuous as her grasp on US history. Donald Trump and his 91 criminal charges can essentially wrap up the Republican nomination next week when 15 states hold their primary contests. What a world.

Norfolk Southern CEO received 37% raise following derailment
CEO Alan Shaw received $13.4 million in total compensation in 2023, up from $9.8 million in 2022. It was a banner year for the railroad company, after all. On February 3, 2023, a catastrophic derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, triggered a massive, toxic chemical fire and the evacuation of much of the town, eventually costing the company more than $1.1 billion and wreaking ecological havoc on an already impoverished area that will take years to fully recover from. Sure, the company’s overall net income fell 44% last year to $1.8 billion and stock shares fell 22% in the two months following the accident, but this is America, gosh darn it, where centuries-old traditions of unchecked malfeasance and criminal negligence are to be rewarded! And who doesn't love a good corporate comeback story, anway?

Missouri law that STILL bars pregnant woman from getting divorced finally on chopping block
Yeah, you read that right. Thanks to an incredibly archaic yet somehow still current law, a pregnant woman can file for divorce in Missouri, but the court must wait until after she gives birth in order to finalize it — which means that women in abusive relationships have no recourse while they are pregnant. You'll be shocked to learn that similar laws are on the books in other GOP-run states like Texas, Arizona, and Arkansas. “It just doesn't make any sense in 2024,” said Democratic state Rep. Ashley Aune, who has filed a bill to finally get rid of the deeply misogynistic law. No, no it doesn't! It just goes to show how little Republicans care about the welfare of women that these laws have remained on the books for so long.

Rep. Lauren Boebert’s son arrested, faces 22 charges
Tyler Jay Boebert, the 18-year-old son of MAGA clown and far-right Rep. Lauren Boebert, was arrested on Tuesday afternoon following “a recent string of vehicle trespass and property thefts” in Rifle, Colorado, according to police. Tyler Jay's offenses include four felony counts of criminal possession of ID documents, one felony count of conspiracy to commit a felony, and 15 misdemeanor and petty offenses. Earlier this month, Lauren Boebert filed a temporary restraining order against Jayson Boebert — her ex-husband and Tyler Jay's father — alleging harassment, charges he slammed as politically motivated to justify his ex-wife’s move to a new congressional district to salvage her fledgling political career. Your move, Colorado voters.

Wendy's explores bringing Uber-style surge pricing to its fast-food restaurants
In what might be the worst idea to ever hit fast food, Wendy's is considering making their wildly unhealthy food more expensive the busier their restaurants are. Uber can get away with surge pricing because you can't just replace not having a car, but you can always just go to a different restaurant — and America being America and all, fast-food joints aren't exactly hard to find. But don't worry! Corporate America will never stop innovating new ways to extort more and more money out of its customers.
US government shutdown solely in GOP Speaker Mike Johnson's lap now
As the federal government approaches day 150 of funding on yet another stopgap budget, Republican House Speaker Johnson is the one person in Washington, DC, who can realistically break the stalemate. MAGA goons in the GOP caucus have left Johnson with a precarious, albeit obvious choice — work with the adults in the room and pass a budget with Democratic support, or further capitulate to radical, right-wing clowns and force the country into another pointless, painful shutdown battle ahead of the general election. For Johnson, working with Democrats could spell the end of his nascent speakership, a position already weakened by MAGA nuts hellbent on chaos and dysfunction. He's got three days to figure it out. Here goes something...
Donald and Melania Trump’s many fights outlined in new book
A new book is pulling back the curtain on the tempestuous relationship between Trump and his wife while they were in the White House. You'll be shocked to hear this, but Donald tried to suppress his wife's independence, and she fought back in several ways. Fight topics included White House decorating decisions, Melania's preference for watching CNN, and Melania's efforts to temper her husband's extremist rhetoric. She must be just thrilled he's running again.
